Jennifer R. Adams, Ph.D.
West Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor

Dr. Adams has been a therapist at Family Matters Psychological Services since June 2007.  She holds an earned doctorate in Couneling and Counselor Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Dr. Adams is qualified by the West Virginia Board of Examiners in Counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor (#1923) She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota International Academic & Counseling Honor Society, The American Counseling Association, and The American School Counselor Association.

Dr. Adams has worked in the counseling field since 1997, when she earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University.  She then completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Counselor Education at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2000. She is currently a Contributing Faculty member at Walden University in Mental Health Counseling.  She also taught at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and West Virginia University.  Her research has been published in Values in Counseling, Professional School Counseling, and other professional journals.
